We are travelers on a journey, fellow pilgrims on the road. We are here to help each other, walk the mile and bear the load. I will hold the Christlight for you in the nighttime of your fear. I will hold my hand out to you, speak (and seek) the peace you long to hear. [by Richard Gillard, MARANATHA MUSIC 1977]

A Prayer By Thomas Merton
One of my friends introduced me to this prayer last week. I think it's beautiful. So I thought I'd share.
-------
MY LORD GOD, I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.
Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you.
And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it.
Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death.
I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.

Yes. This is constantly in my head. I don't always know for certain that I'm in God's will; although, I've prayed every step of the way on this journey I've embarked upon. I can't possibly be out of God's will and yet... I do know this: I've learned more in the last 2 years than I've learned in 34. The last two maybe 3 years have been the most trying, gutwrenchingly and soul searchingly difficult of my entire life, and I wouldn't trade them for anything. The lessons are invaluable.
